Adaptogens are a diverse group of natural plants, herbs, substances, and compounds that help and/or assist the body in dealing with “stress”. Many Adaptogens have been used for thousands of years by cultures around the world for ailments and overall health function. They are called Adaptogens because these substances can affect the body in different ways by adapting their function to the needs of the systems of the body. Adaptogenic Substances can improve the body’s biology, mood, memory, and overall awareness. In some people the same Adaptogen can reduce inflammation while in others it can improve circulation. Adaptogens can increase the body’s function to an optimal level and boost performance, increase mental work capacity, and enhance overall energy. The adaptogenic response in the body is triggered much like a thermometer that regulates temperature. When there is imbalance in a specific area of the body, adaptogens can trigger healing, immunity, and restoration of proper function.
